Hamilton is a large regional town, similar in size to Warrnambool. Although it is surrounded by rolling pastures, as it is a fairly old town, it has extensive gardens, and surrounded by natural beauty. It was, and still is the economic hub of the western plains, and has all of the conveniences that you would expect in a large town. It is also a cultural hub, with some fantastic galleries. It is on the north side of our book trail, and is roughly 1hour from Portland or Warrnambool.
